The LIMA prototype – through the involvement of IREC, the Catalan Institute for Energy Research – is one of the two buildings from the Spanish State represented in Task 40/ECBCS Annex 52 by the International Energy Agency: Towards Net Zero Energy Solar Buildings. Within the scope of the task, a framework of international definitions on building standards, tools, innovative solutions, and guidelines for the construction industry will be developed, among others, through demonstration projects, such as the LIMA prototype. The second participating building is the CIRCE – Center for Research on Energy Resources and Consumption building in Zaragoza, designed by Petra Jebens-Zirkel.
